Brightening our Future by Preserving our Past

Traveling Gavel Jan 2026 [PDF]

Greetings brethren, as we begin the new year, let us reflect and look forward to the bright new beginning. May our labours towards building our brighter future continue with the same enthusiasm that we have seen around the jurisdiction this fall with the initiations and degree work performed. I am looking forward to continuing the visitations with a couple for January arranged and ramping up again in February and March.

January is always a time of new beginnings and a time of celebration. Many places around the world celebrate the immortal Bard Robbie Burns on Sunday January 25th, 2026 which would be his 266th birthday. Robbie Burns was also a brother Mason and his history as well as his most famous poem used every New Years Eve is included as the educational piece for this month. The photo with the article below of the apron is from my trip to Scotland in 2017, this was the apron presented to him after being made Poet Laureate of Lodge Canongate Kilwinning No. 2, Edinburgh. His Master Masons apron that is pictured in the etching and to the left, hangs above the mantle place at the Grand Lodge of Scotland Museum.

Information for the upcoming 120th Grand Communication will be coming from Grand Lodge office and in next months Traveling Gavel. I am looking forward to seeing you in Moose Jaw.

If you are wanting an official visit, please contact the Grand Lodge office to make arrangements.
