Brightening our Future by Preserving our Past

Traveling Gavel April 2026 [PDF]

Greetings brethren.

Firstly, we honour the life of MW. Bro. Jack Colenutt who was called to higher service on March 12th, 2026 just a few months before his 90th birthday. His service is still in the process of being organized and more information will be sent out to the lodges once we confirm the details with the family. Our thoughts are with them in this period of mourning.

Due to circumstances in the healing process, I rescheduled my official visit to Maple Leaf to May to give me a little extra time to heal from the surgery. Healing is going slowly and as I am writing this month’s newsletter, I am preparing to see the surgeon for the follow up to see how things are mending.

In the first visit since the surgery, I had the honour and privilege to present RW. Bro.’s Doug Keam, Doug Brownlee and Foster Martin of St. Andrew’s No. 174 their 50-year pins and certificates at the St. Andrew’s 103rd anniversary supper meeting. Congratulations to them as well as the two absent brethren for their 50 years of service to the craft.

A big thank you to the Deputy Grand Master, RW. Bro. Mike Keogan for driving to Lloydminster on March 19th for the official visit to Britannia. It is great to see how well the lodge is doing, with six newly initiated brethren and potentially three more on the way. Keep up the great work brethren.

If you are wanting an official visit, please contact the Grand Lodge office to make arrangements.
